The language. Icelandic language.

First! If you want to learn Icelandic before go to Iceland - and you don't know nothing about it - I recommend a book called ''Teach Yourself Icelandic''. I started to learn the language using this way and I'm really satisfied. I recommed not just for who wants to learn Icelandic, but also other languages... We have ''Teach Yourself Dutch, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Danish, Finish and all the languages you can imagine! I love ''Teach Yourself Books''!

Icelandic has few differents words. It's difficult when you start but day after day you see it as a normal letter.
See this paragraph for know the letter and more about the Islenska (Icelandic):.

''Smjörið er brætt og hveitið smátt og smátt hrært út í það, þangað til það er gengið upp í smjörið. Síðan er mjólkinni smáhellt út í, og hrært stöðugt í, til þess ekki fari í kekki. Þegar mjólkin er gengin upp og grauturinn orðinn vel jafn og saltið komið í, skal taka hann ofan. Með honum er borin saftblanda eða mjólk, einnig steyttur sykur og kanel.''

''The butter is melted and the flour stirred into it slowly but surely, until it has blended with the butter. Then the milk is slowly poured in, and stirred constantly, so it doesn’t get lumpy. When the milk has blended well and the porridge has become steady and salt has been added, it should be taken off. It is served with a fruit juice mixture or milk, even ground sugar and cinnamon.''

To me the most difficult thing about the Islenska will be the declination. In Icelandic we have: nominative, dative, acusative and dative. Nouns, pronouns, adjectives... All they change the form in their different cases. It can leave you to the madness!

You know... Icelandic is a closed language and do not have too much changes. Nowadays it still almost the same that it was in the past. It's from the old norway language and Icelandic is cool. Really cool! Understand:. In Iceland, everything is cool (I hope).

Ísland best í heimi :D

PS:. To know more about the Islenska you can read it: http://www.iceland.is/media/Utgafa/Icelandic.pdf

Reze para que o Caio (eu) aprenda Islandês - se ele não aprender ficará muito desapontado!
